Helikopter Ni-mh Aaa 650mah 7,2v

Thee art be mine ...

Since the beginning of the hollidays - which feels like ages ago - I hat a lot of leisure time to do shit I don't normally have time for during uni terms.

One of my favorite hobbys is painting with acrylics. For quite some time now my Mum has asked me to paint something for our arbor. And let me tell you it was a pain in the ass to find a suitable draft for me to portray because what I like is not nessecary something the 'rents would like... Really I looked at like thousends of pictures on the internet with my Mum and found quite a lot I really liked but none was THE ONE.

Once again my addiction to American television series helped me out. Inspired by the opening credits to True Blood, which are simply gorgeous just like the opening song "Bad Things" by Jace Everett,...

...I chose a swamp-like landscape.

After days and days on my poor abused knees and being sprinkled with paint all over this is what my masterpiece of world class art ^^' looks like:

The waves are made with a relief paste and then painted over with acrylic.

I rather like how this part worked out...

...well, at least he looks human... points to whoever finds out what the objects to his right are XD

If I were allowed to add I might say that I did a fine job on this one. It's not perfect and not the way exactly like I wanted it to be, but it got pretty close... And this way it has even more... uhm... charm perhaps?
All in all I'm quite happy with my handiwork.

Also I've been working on a frame for a painting I did earlier this year:

I love how the mask looks like. It's difficult to see in this pic (really it's the pic) but the mask looks like it is made of bark.

The frame - again - is made with a relief paste but with a coarse one this time. I got to work with a scraper to put it on. It was actually quite a lot of fun... and since it didn't need to look like anything I could just do whatever.

Also, we finally got around to have a painting framed I did in my last school year. Yay!

It's supposed to be a "vanitas self-portrait" according to the teachers topic and I remember every item in that picture has a meaning, but I can't remember half of what it means... but it still looks very fine. What I do remember though that I was inspired by Picasso's "Blue Period". I used to think Picasso couldn't paint but I really love the art he did in that time.

They are all rather depressing - which is most likely the reason I like them so much...
